Garden: A Frosty Morning

The frost and morning sun brought life to some things:


Even as they took life from others:
I wonder if the buds are still viable?

Poor little guy is crispy, flowers, too.
Just so you know...despite my troubled relationship with yellow-jackets, I picked this one up and moved him to a sunny spot near his nest (well, A yellow jacket nest--Washington state had a population explosion of yellow jackets last year and I had more than my share).

Are the very tall narrow things your apple trees? If so, they've really shot up!

B--Yes, those are the columnar apples. I think/hope they've maxed out as they are already taller than the advertised size.

So nice to find another Seattle area blogger! We've been having some very frosty mornings lately, haven't we? I'm actually looking forward to cutting back all the dying brown stuff.
