Anyway, there was just enough time this evening to run around the front garden with my camera. A few hot days brought out the lilies and the Digitalis parviflora are also blooming: it's one of my favorite combinations.

A big mess of stuff, very different from my garden of a few years ago. |

Of course, I like the pic of the black lily best. :)
Lilium 'Landini' where have you been my whole life? Gorgeous Emily, just gorgeous.
Thanks, Loree! In my experience, "Landini" has been a good one. It hasn't increased the number of stems, but the ones it makes are very sturdy and the number of buds has increased each year.
Wow, such sophisticated beauty. I really love the combination. Nice job, Emily.
Thank you, Grace! I keep tweaking at it, trying to get it "right".
Your garden looks lush, Emily! The dark lilies are wonderful but I'm really in love with that 'Lemon Bells' clematis.
Hi Kris, thanks! I know, the clematis is a good one, too--it's on our "Great Plant Picks" list, though not easy to locate relative to the typical, large flowered varieties.
I have 'Landini' too, it's a favorite. Looks great with that chocolate Digitalis.
Hi Alison-thanks! It's a good one, isn't it?
The Landini is shockingly beautiful!!!
Hi Jayne--It's a good grower, too!
