Garden: Good Bug? Bad Bug?

I spied these creepy-crawlies huddled under a hydrangea flower petal.  What are they, do you suppose?  Garden friend or foe?

** Many thanks to Laura who blogs at Gravy Lessons for identifying these as nymphs of the Brown Marmorated Stink Bug, an invasive pest.

Great photos, and kind of pretty little bugs, with their marbled bellies. Too bad they're baddies!

Yeah...I squished these and examined the rest of the hydrangea vine for more caches of eggs.

Oh my! I admit they look very pretty, at least in photos, but a mass of them like that seems like something out of a gardener's horror story. I hope you manage to get rid of all of them!

Hi, Kris! I got 'em. The poor little infant bugs ALL fit under one thumb :-(
